Rainy Days from Maloney's Beach to Misty Eden

Day One: Coastal Wonders and Wildlife Encounters

The adventure along the South Coast unfolded with a visit to the mesmerizing red rocks and ocean bastions of Maloney's Beach. The rugged beauty of the coastline, coupled with the soothing sound of crashing waves, set the tone for an unforgettable exploration. Winding through the dappled light of Murramarang, the journey offered glimpses of nature's canvas, painted with hues of green and gold.

A stop at Pebbly Beach provided a delightful encounter with kangaroos seemingly unphased by the weather. Their graceful movements amidst the coastal landscape added a touch of wild beauty to the day. Not far away, Kioloa revealed an unfortunate scene for a fisherman battling the elements, a testament to the unpredictable nature of coastal weather.

The day concluded with a visit to Conjola Park, where the serene surroundings offered a perfect retreat. The calm waters and the quiet ambiance provided a peaceful end to a day filled with coastal wonders.

Day Two: Rainy Respite and Christmas Joy

As rain pattered against the windows, day two was spent cosily at home, enjoying Christmas with family. A quick stroll down to the Bay allowed for a breath of fresh air, despite the drizzle, making it a perfect blend of family time and coastal charm. Sadly though, the consistent drizzle mixed with the odd heavy shower, meant that I couldn’t put the drone up at all this trip. That will have to wait for another time.

Day Three: Mystical Eden and Oceanic Marvels

Venturing as far south as foggy Eden on the third day, the South Coast continued to unveil its magic. The oceanic views of Bermagui presented a spectacle, with several pods of dolphins gracefully navigating the waters. The misty ambiance of Eden added an ethereal touch to the landscape, as trawlers went about their business amidst the mysterious fog.

Watching waves crash against the rocks, the old Whaling Station across the bay stood as a testament to the region's rich maritime history. The interplay of mist and waves created a surreal atmosphere, making Eden a captivating destination that captured the essence of the South Coast.

In just three days, the South Coast revealed a diverse tapestry of experiences – from the rugged beauty of Maloney's Beach to the refreshing change of a rainy Christmas day, and finally, the mystical allure of fog-covered Eden. Each moment along the journey was a reminder of the enchanting beauty that lies along the South Coast of Australia, waiting to be explored and cherished.

Back to School

Welcome back to school! It's great to be back after a well-deserved break. I hope everyone had a wonderful time with their families and friends. To kick off the new school year, I would like to share some of the highlights from my vacation with you all.

As a teacher, I believe that the experiences we share with friends and family are essential components of education and personal growth.

Getting out again after the COVID-19 pandemic is truly refreshing. After spending months in dealing with restrictions and social distancing, it feels liberating to be able to go out and experience the world once again. Whether it's meeting up with friends, going on a trip somewhere new, or simply taking a walk in the park, being able to do things that were once taken for granted is a reminder of how much we cherish our freedoms.

Over our last cople of school breaks I have had the odd opportunity to snap a picture here and there and it is now time to share them with you guys.

I have included some of my favourite photographs from my travels below. I hope they inspire you to explore the world and broaden your horizons.

Wishing you all a great school year!
